Education: University of Illinois: College of Veterinary Medicine,
Since I was a child, all I ever wanted to be was a veterinarian. I would remove the threading from my stuffed animals and then sew them back up. At age 15, I began as a volunteer assistant at a local animal hospital, and continued for about 10 years. I enjoyed participating in my church choir and was their organist for several years. In the mid 1980’s I received a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in music at what was then Aurora College and was immediately employed as a tutor/teacher at Triton College. I earned a second Bachelors in Veterinary Science in 1989 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, both from University of Illinois. 1993-1997 I moved to Florida where I lived and worked as a veterinarian in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I did a short stint in the Florida Keys before returning to Illinois where I have been practicing ever since. I feel I have been truly blessed to work in a field that I love. I have rescued many animals in my lifetime and still have several dogs and cats who I call my own. I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to practice at TLC First Animal Hospital and I look forward to many years servicing all the clients and patients here.
