Veterinary Technician

TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician or CVT to join our growing team. We are a busy, one doctor small animal and exotic practice that integrates holistic modalities and approaches with Western medicine to provide our patients the best options and care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the field, ideally two years, but a combination of work experience and education may qualify the right candidate (CVT is a PLUS!). Qualified candidates will be seeking long-term employment with a desire to build long-lasting relationships with our staff, clients, and their pets. Applicant must be compassionate, self-motivated, and dependable with an eye for attention to detail. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Duties include

  • client interaction and education,
  • venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • nursing care
  • in-house laboratory procedures (fecal/ UA/ cytology /CBC/ chem)
  • digital radiographs
  • filling prescriptions
  • anesthesia induction along with monitoring and recovery
  • surgical prep and assistance
  • performing dental prophylaxis
  • technician appointments
  • general housekeeping of the hospital.

This is a permanent, full-time position. We are currently on a modified work schedule and doing curbside drop off appointments. Hours run between 32-35 hours per week but should be expected to increase to 40 per week in the near future. Our current schedule is Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8am – 6pm (although we’re always here later until notes and work is completed) and Tuesdays from 8:30am – 5pm.  Compensation is based on experience.

Veterinary Assistant

TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking a full or part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are a busy 1 doctor small animal and exotic practice that integrates holistic modalities and approach with Western medicine to provide our patients the best options and care.

The role of the Veterinary Assistant is to serve as an extra set of hands for the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians. Qualified candidates will be seeking long-term employment with a desire to build long-lasting relationships with our staff, clients, and their pets. Applicant must be compassionate, self-motivated, and dependable with an eye for attention to detail.

Primary responsibilities will include

  • patient restraint for exams
  • obtain brief medical history from owners
  • client communication
  • enter charges electronically
  • perform laser therapy treatments
  • fill prescriptions
  • stocking and prepping exam rooms
  • cleaning duties including laundry
  • administer SQ fluids and injections

Veterinary Assistants must be capable of lifting 40 pounds by oneself and able to lift over your head, remain on your feet for the entire workday, learn and perform proper and safe animal restraint, have a flexible schedule, and be computer savvy.

Experience is helpful, but not necessary as we will train someone with the right attributes. Compensation based on experience. We need reliable team members who would like to grow with us!

Client Care Coordinator

TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time or part-time Client Care Coordinator to join our growing team. We are a busy, one doctor small animal and exotic practice that integrates holistic modalities and approaches with Western medicine to provide our patients the best options and care.

Our hospital offers a full range of state-of-the-art services including surgery, dentistry, digital radiography, in-house laboratory with diagnostic capability, and class IV laser therapy. Recently, we added a hydrotherapy swimming pool and underwater treadmill to complement our rehabilitation services. Additionally, we have a Traveling Doctor that visits our hospital for chiropractic adjustments and treatments on our patients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the field, ideally two years, but a combination of work experience and education may qualify the right candidate. Qualified candidates will be seeking long-term employment with a desire to build long-lasting relationships with our staff, clients, and their pets. Applicant must be compassionate, friendly, self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task, adept at written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent computer skills. Having a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must!

Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Duties include greeting clients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, client communication, follow-up calls, handling financial transactions, bringing patients in and out of clinic, general housekeeping, as well as other various tasks throughout the hospital

Although this is a permanent position, we are currently on a modified work schedule (doing curbside drop off appointments) due to COVID-19. Hours should be expected to increase to 40 in the future as the pandemic threat continues to recede. Our current schedule is Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8am – 6pm, and Tuesdays from 8:30am – 5pm (although we’re always here a little later to wrap up final details). Veterinary Kennel Assistant

TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking an energetic, dependable and adaptable individual who can frequently shift direction. COVID-19 has allowed us to create this new position, and once the pandemic ceases to exist, the position will transform.

Responsibilities

  • Escorting animals from owners’ vehicles into the hospital and returning them when their medical visit is complete.
  • Delivering medications to owners’ vehicles
  • Sanitizing and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces throughout the hospital
  • Keeping animals safe and comfortable in exam rooms and kennels as needed.
  • Keeping common areas such as the bathrooms, break rooms, offices and hallways tidy
  • Cleaning up after animal mess as needed
  • Helping with cleaning and organization throughout the facility
  • Washing, drying, and folding hospital laundry
  • Restocking exam rooms, cleaning supplies, treats etc.
  • Some very light exterior cleaning, such as storefront windows, doors, and entryway vestibule
  • Keeping an inventory of housekeeping products and cleaning supplies, and reordering supplies.
  • Other light maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications

Customer service or kennel attending experience is a plus.
